From 1966 until 2005 the St. Louis Cardinals called Busch Stadium home. The first Major League Baseball game at Busch Stadium was held on May 12, 1966 and the last one was held on October 19, 2005.

The Red Birds won that first game 4-3 against the Atlanta Braves in 12 innings. They lost their last game at the old Busch Stadium against the Houston Astros 5-1 in game 6 of the National League Championship series.
